Four Seasons (two vases)
Two vases depicting the Four Seasons
The four seasons are a woman's face with trees and leaves flowing into her hair.
The paintings are on two elegant 'pebble' vases, so named because of the lovely flat but rounded shape: one depicts Spring and Winter; the other vase illustrates Summer and Autumn.
The Seasons are always an inspiration to my artwork and I've made several series with this title, including in my painted ceramics range.
I have painted onto ready-made vases at a local pottery, then they are fired and glazed.
I tend to make only a few painted pottery pieces about once every 12 - 18 months.
The photographs show the vases on my sitting room mantlepiece; I change them around corresponding to the time of year.
Two of the photgraphs show them at my solo exhibiton at a gallery in Lincoln..
