Dancing with an imaginary man

Dancing with an imaginary man is a theme and title that I return to again and again* ...

A woman is dancing in the snow; the imaginary man is simply hinted behind her head and shoulders.

He touches her up-streched hand with his.

Watercolour and gold gouache on beautiful deep grey textured Khadi paper - Khadi handmade cotton rag paper is from India - a medium weight 210 gsm paper with a deckled edge.

I like to show off the lovely shade of the paper so that forms the basic colour of the image and I have here used a palette of white and brown/black with a few spots of warm red and violet - with gold gouache highlights. (I use Winsor & Newton professional watercolours).

Size: A3 / approximately 11.75 x 17 inches

The nature of this handmade paper is a deckled uneven edge; this feature can be shown when it comes to framing by 'floating' the image, or it can be conventially hidden by covering the edge of the paper with the mountboard/mat.
